From this year, I have been in a stay at the University of Surrey. This university has a nice campus and it is in Guildford, at about 40-50 minutes from London by train.

I have come here to meet more people, and starting a collaboration with Ferrante Neri, a very productive researcher with a long experience in Evolutionary Computation that has been able to adapt his research to Neuroevolution and other interesting topics. Actually, we share a research line with one of my Phd student, Abel, about NAS using Evolutionary Computation.

I also take in contact with Roman Bauer, that works in biological simulations by agents, for studying and working in illness and drugs. A very interesting approach, and we have told a bit about collaborations with him.

Curiously, I got the accommodation of the own university in a room with shared kitchen, and in that kitchen I met Isaiah, a Kenyan doctor in chemical engineering looking for a post-doc position, and he put me in contact with more researchers in that Department, that curiously also work with Roman, and possible we will start a collaboration very near (building an interesting network).

A part of working a lot with my Phd students and with meeting, I have been exploring during the weekends several interesting places, like Farnham, Port-mouths, or the Windsor Castle.
